A welcome from our president!

Welcome to the Oxford University Geography Society!

Since the signing of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in 2015, Geography has become an ever-important discipline that can help direct progress towards those goals. Geography’s strength lies in its holistic approach to a vibrant range of contemporary issues, from climate change and conservation to urban poverty and migration. OUGS is a space for everyone to critically reflect on meaningful ways to utilise geography in everyday thought and practice, as well as connect with like-minded students. In line with this, we are also working hard to increase access, diversity and decolonisation operations for the subject both within and outside of Oxford.

Do get involved with all the society has to offer and reach out if you have any questions, ideas or potential collaborations!
